FOR MORE THAN A CENTURY, THE METRO CHAMBER HAS BEEN AT THE FOREFRONT of important community causes that enhance the quality of life for Sacramento area residents. Today, we continue to strive to enhance the vitality of the Sacramento six-county region, not only through our advocacy and business activities, but also by investing back into our community through sponsorships, leadership development and other community support investments. This strategic objective is supported through the Sacramento Metro Chamber Foundation, Leadership Sacramento and other Community Development activities which include:

  • The awarding of in-kind donations and sponsorships to qualified regional community program requests

  • The Metro Chamber speakers' bureau, which makes available some of the Metro Chamber's executive staff and volunteer leaders for qualified speaking engagements

  • Sponsorship or promotion of community events that are in alignment with the Metro Chamber's priorities and objectives

Requests for support are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Priority will be given to current Metro Chamber members; however, all requests will be considered. For more information or to request support, please contact the Community Development department at 916-552-6800 or community@metrochamber.org.

Metro Chamber selects Leadership Sacramento project as recipient for annual Staff Holiday Giving

Every year, the Metro Chamber staff select a regional charity for its Holiday Giving. This year, the Metro Chamber staff and members are being invited to donate to the Leadership Sacramento 2008 Class community project organization: Lilliput Children's Services.

Lilliput serves the needs of foster children and their families in the Sacramento region. This year's Leadership Sacramento community project benefited Lilliput - specifically, their Kinship Support Services Program, which strives to not only place foster children in the care of family members or close family friends, but also works to help provide continuing support to those families through access to additional services, respite and daycare, just to name a few benefits of the program.

This year, Lilliput collected "Wish Lists" from the children of a couple of the families they are serving. These kids range in age from 15 months to six years-old, and their "wishes" are listed below.

Metro Chamber members who would like to contribute to this holiday giving effort, can respond by email to Shirley Smith at ssmith@metrochamber.org or 916-321-9146.

Donations of cash, gift cards or unwrapped gifts (as listed below) are welcome. Lilliput asks that the donations and/or gifts be ready for pick up by Friday, Dec. 19. Thank you in advance for your generosity and happy holidays.
